Sometimes it feels like by having you here reading, we are sitting in a cozy spot somewhere, and I'm telling a story. I like to think of it that way. Nine months into the start of this newsletter, most of you are people I have met and have had conversations like that with, so the familiarity of sitting down to write for you is still intimate.
So, how are you? Really. I love the responses and the sign-ups for 20 minute chats I get from you all. If you haven't yet or haven't in a while, please do. There are no substitutes for that kind of connection in my mind. The potency of witnessing and being witnessed can create things that reading and gathering more awareness just doesn't quite do.
This month, I am filled with gratitude. I have noticed that my strongest gratitude comes in a wave born from grief. What a timely wave, coming into spring. Winter, even without such clear seasons in southern California, really makes room for us to shed, to rest, to clarify. For me, it becomes an intentional time of releasing ways of being that no longer serve me. That's something said frequently in the coaching world, but after over a decade of that kind of work, it gets incredibly detailed, and the blind spots are deeper. I sometimes say that it's like having vacuumed and mopped that living room spotless and noticing that there is still an energy of clearing needed. It's onto the base boards and moving the furniture. It's less about making things perfect or fixing anything and more about having a clear understanding (a clean enough floor) to know how to more properly honor ourselves (the room). It goes from gaining skills like time management and leadership to shedding people pleasing or perfectionist tendencies. It challenges us to take on more responsibility for our experiences and shift from the inside out (vacuuming under the couch) rather than comparing or blaming others (scrolling through a home improvement magazine). Anyway, my metaphor may be crumbling, so I will leave it there.
I simply invite you to take some inventory as you step into the natural energy of spring, the time where your energy increases, the intentions you may have set earlier this year start gaining traction, and you step into the full 2025 version of yourself. How involved are you in the design of that self? What are the seeming roadblocks? What are the steps ahead? If you can't tell by now, this is my favorite thing to talk about, so as you're considering, if you'd like to make it a dialogue, hop on my calendar.
If in your inventory, you find a desire for some relaxation in mind, body, and spirit, reiki might be our thing. And if you're curious about going deeper into balancing your masculine and feminine qualities in an immersive experience or just have really been wanting some in-person partnership with me, let's meet up in October for my retreat! Link to come, but respond to this for details on that!
For now, start on the inside. Listen, even if all you hear is a whisper. And take a tiny step toward community around you, even if it starts with just forwarding this email to someone you love. Have a happy April, you fools! I hope the silliness reaches the depth of your hearts. See you at the end of the month!
