I come to you with much to celebrate and to grieve. Funny how these two things often go hand in hand. Let's start and end with some celebration, shall we? If you've been here since the first newsletter, we have reached 2 years of monthly emails together! How fun is that? I've enjoyed coming to your inbox with my musings and will continue bringing you along the ride of insights and info for as long as you like! Writing to you has been a favorite among more creative outlets in my business, and I would be happy to hear from you about anything that's stuck with you in the newsletters you've read. To go along the theme of anniversaries, 10 years ago this month denotes the first moments I called myself a coach. I was beginning formal training and started practice right away. A decade is my longest relationship to just about anything, and I am so humbled looking back on the road to get here and so proud of what I've done to sustain Chief Executive Angel. I've had many exciting collaborations, partnerships, certifications, events, and clients in these years. I've learned so much about who I am, who you all are, and what we're capable of when we design our lives on purpose. I've shared a list of things that I've practiced since my start that have made my life better. I hope that these serve you as well. | | I'd also love to celebrate that I got my passport back out recently to watch Team USA's women's inline hockey master's team win the tournament in Germany! What a thrill to see these 35+ athletes play and win every game every day all the way to the gold. Exploring a few countries along the way was magical, too. For those newer around here, I have spent much of my life galivanting the world as much as I can, so I am always happiest walking a new side street somewhere I don't speak the language, finding new adventures, and in turn new pieces of myself. | | Upon returning from this dreamy, magical, and inspiring trip I went directly into a week and a half of being glued to the couch with something that is very likely covid. Yuck. Still feeling it as I type, but we're on the mend! While laying around feeling pathetic, I got some horrific news of a murder of a friend of mine that has now become national news. My sorority sisters from my undergrad days and I are in a group chat updating each other, holding each other through it, and posting beautiful photos and memories of her as much as we can to outweigh the very gruesome and sensationalized story of her last day with the things about her that truly matter. This is where the grief comes in, and I would say that I can't imagine really leaving the phase of shock any time soon. I find that by befriending grief and having it be a big part of my integration process gives me a bit more facility with the process while absolutely not saving me from the tragedy and pain. But part of grieving is giving her just this small moment of my attention, now yours as well, to say what a kind and brilliant woman Amanda Roark was, someone I'd not known in years but still held so fondly in my memory. May her family be held by her community. May we all shine a little brighter in response to having such a light depart from the world so early. And if all this is not busy enough, we will land on one more celebration. If you've ever wondered why I send these out on the 28th of every month, it's because 28 is a special number to me. When I first started practicing working with my intuition, repeating numbers and symbols were an early tool of mine. 28 is the day of my birth, so I'd look for it everywhere. June is the month! So, today is my birthday, and I am so glad to spend it with you in this way. For my birthday, I'd love: messages of well wishes in my inbox (reply to this email), to see you at Tea Time this Friday, July 3 at noon (we're talking intuitive skills!), for you to share the newsletter with someone who would benefit from subscribing, or anything else you'd like to add. I love surprises! | | For Tea Time with Mel this month - you can one-click RSVP and register using the following link.
